Enough has not been heard of this Maina Reinstatement saga as a leaked memo by Head of Service, Winnifred Oyo-Ita has revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari knew about the re-appointment of ex-pension reform boss Abdulrasheed Maina into the civil service, and was warned about the implications to his anti-corruption war. It seems the president turned deaf ears to the warnings. Her memo was sent to the Chief of Staff to the President, Mr. Abba Kyari. It was dated October 23. Part of it says: “Further to your letter Ref. A senator has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP, for the All Progressives Congress,APC, in Jigawa state. The party leadership who expressed their happiness said it has caught a big fish from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Jigawa state. The 'decampee' Alhaji Danladi Sankara, who was a former Senator representing Jigawa Northwest, dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and was received by the Jigawa Governor, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru at the Malam Aminu Kano triangle Square on Sunday in Dutse. Badaru said that the defection of the former senator was a welcome development to the party in the state. The governor said that the APC had caught a big fish, because of Sankara’s pedigree in his former party. He said; “With his defection to APC, PDP is completely dead in Jigawa because Sankara is one of the founders of PDP in the country and the person that brought it to jigawa,’’.

As police continues to haunt for Benue most wanted militia, Mr. Terwase Akwaza alias Ghana. His wife, Mrs. Queen Akpene Agwaza was granted bail at early hours today at Federal High court sitting in makurdi. Queendoosh.info sources learnt that, the presiding Judge of Federal High Court 1 Makurdi gave her a condition that a surety must be a civil servant of either state or Federal with a bail bond of #1m, must deposit a document of his or her landed property situated in mkd and a letter of confirmation signed by his or her Head of Department. It could be recalled that, Queen Akwaza was arrested and detauned months ago after police launched a manhunt for his husband who is been at large ever since the order of his arrest. The immediate passed president of Nigeria,Goodluck Jonathan has asked the Abuja Federal High Court to ignore the subpoena ordering him to appear in court as a witness to testify in defence of ex-PDP National Publicity Secretary Olisa Metuh. In the alternative, Jonathan sought an order directing Metuh to deposit with the court for and on his behalf the sum of N1bn to cover travelling expenses for himself and his security personnel from his home town, Otuoke, in Bayelsa State, to Abuja. African Development Bank (AfDB) has called off a $400 million loan to Nigeria that would have helped fund the country’s budget, Reuters reports. The money has been redirected to specific projects, a vice president at the lender said yesterday. The AfDB had been in talks with Nigeria for around a year to release the second, $400 million tranche of a $1 billion loan to shore up its budget for 2017, as the government tried to reinvigorate its stagnant economy with heavy spending. But Nigeria has not met the terms of the international lenders, which also included the World Bank, to enact various reforms, including allowing its currency, the naira, to float freely on the foreign exchange market.

National Leader of the All Progressive Congress, APC, on Monday expressed confidence in President Muhammadu Buhari and also revealed after holding close doors meeting with him at the villa why he is not in frequent consultations again. Nigeria's President, Muhammadu Buhari has finally sacked the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation , Babachir Lawal ; and the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency , Ambassador Ayo Oke . The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, disclosed this in a statement on Monday . The sacking of the two government officials was based on the report of a three - man panel led by Vice - President Yemi Osinbajo that investigated them . The Nation reports that a fresh N17bn pension scandal has been traced to ex-pension reform boss, Abdulrasheed Maina. The said cash was diverted by Maina from the N24billion budgeted by FG for payment of pension liabilities through the Presidential Pension Reforms Task Team. The money was stolen in five years from 2008 to 2013 in tranches of N2.7billion and N14.374billion respectively. It's believed that N2.7billion was converted to personal use and N14.374billion was shared by Maina and those in the chain of pension management in different Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs). Kogi state Governor, Yahaya Bello, has allegedly paid no less than N129m for 300 pages of a national newspaper to publish names of civil servants that have been paid their salaries in the state. A black and white advert page on a national daily newspaper costs about N430, 500, according to Daily Post Gbenga Olorunpomi, the Senior Special Adviser on New Media to governor Bello, made this known on Saturday through his Twitter handle. Tenion mounts as Abdulrasheed Maina continues six days after President Muhammadu Buhari gave an order for his "immediate disengagement." The Service Commission is yet to commence the process to terminate his appointment with the service, reports say. The process for disengaging a civil servant from the system, as laid down in the rules and regulations of the service, would require strict adherence to civil service rules and procedures in order to avoid its nullification in court. Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday ordered Kaduna State Governor, El-rufai to pay the sum of N40m to the President of Chocolate City Group, Audu Maikori, as compensation for his unlawful arrest. The court also awarded N10m exemplary damages, with 10% interest in favour of Audu Maikori Delivering judgement in the fundamental human rights enforcement suit filed by Maikori on May 5, 2017, Justice John Tsoho ordered the four respondents including, Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir el-Rufai, and the police to pay the damages to the applicant. The other respondents to the suit are the Inspector-General of Police and the Attorney-General of Kaduna State.
