Is this a call for a sack? According to reports,, Manchester United have identified Juventus manager, Massimiliano Allegri as a possible replacement for Jose Mourinho. Mourinho recently signed a new contract with United but report last week claimed that top figures at Old Trafford are questioning the former Chelsea boss’ approach in the wake of the club’s Champions League exit to Sevilla, Daily Posts claims. There are also claims that United’s hierarchy are unhappy with Mourinho’s treatment of England defender, Luke Shaw after substituting the left-back at half-time in the 2-0 win over Brighton on Saturday. Mourinho also publicly criticised Shaw’s performance at Old Trafford, and United’s board are now concerned that the Portuguese’s handling of the 22-year-old will lower his transfer fee. A top official at Old Trafford told Corriere dello Sport, that the club are keeping tabs on Allegri’s situation and look at the 50-year-old’s achievements with ‘interest and admiration.’...

Jose Mourinho has signed a contract extension with Manchester United keeping him at Old Trafford until 2020 with an option to extend for a further year.     Mourinho replaced Louis van Gaal in 2016, and despite finishing sixth in the Premier League in his first season, he did manage to guide the team to both the EFL Cup and the Europa League.     United currently sits second in the league this term, and despite murmurs over his future and ?recent links with Paris Saint-Germain, the former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss was delighted to confirm he would be staying on in charge of the Red Devils. Louis Van Gaal, a former Manchester United Manager has criticized Jose Mourinho's style of play, saying he'll prefer to watch Manchester City play than his former club.  “If you ask me how did I do at United, I will say it was my best year ever, given the circumstances I was working under. We played football that was quite alright.  "But it’s not football that is appreciated in England, and yet, right now, looking at United, I have to conclude Mourinho is not being criticized while it’s far more boring football. “I would rather watch City play than United. You need quality in a squad and it’s clear City have a better squad. What United produce now is defensive football. I always played attacking football. “The proof is that the opposition were always parking the bus. They don’t do that now because Jose Mourinho plays so defensive.
