Western Libya have arrested a man for killing his ex-wife and throwing her body in Qaryat Boaishi in Tripoli. The crime was unveiled on February 22 when a watchdog brought a human leg to his owner, who immediately reported this to the police. Police detectives, with the help of the same watchdog, located the dead boy. They found a dead woman whose body was cut into pieces while some parts of her limbs were eaten by stray dogs. Nigeria's Senate President, Bukola Saraki was not among the members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the ongoing national executive council meeting of the ruling party. Saraki was conspicuously absent on Monday night when President Muhammadu Buhari hosted the APC caucus at the presidential villa in Abuja. With his missing the meeting has made it the second time in a row. On Monday, the president told top members of the party to prepare for the 2019 elections. He also thanked them for standing by him “despite the antics of the opposition”. Governors, ministers and top members of the ruling party are at the meeting holding at the headquarters of the APC in Abuja.   Earlier in the day, Saraki was at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), where his trial was adjourned following a complaint by Kanu Agabi, his counsel. Postmortem has revealed that Bollywood superstar Sridevi Kapoor, who reports earlier said died of a cardiac arrest, actually died of accidental drowning in her hotel bathtub in Dubai on Saturday. The beautiful 54-year-old actress was in Dubai where she was attending her nephew's wedding when the accident happened. She was found unconscious in her bathtub in her suite at Dubai’s Emirates Towers hotel and rushed to hospital where she was declared dead on arrival. The Dubai government's media office tweeted that the postmortem analysis of Sridevi revealed that she had died due to "drowning in her hotel apartment's bathtub following loss of consciousness". Dubai’s Gulf News alleged that the glamorous Bollywood star, who acted in 300 films in five different Indian languages, was under the "influence of alcohol" and had fallen into the bathtub and drowned. This was following President Muhammadu Buhari’s rejection of the proposed bill establishing Peace Corps of Nigeria on Tuesday, Buhari’s rejection of the bill was contained in a letter read during plenary on Tuesday by Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara. In the letter, Buhari cited security concerns and financial burden of funding the organisation by the government as his reasons for rejection of the bill. The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, gave the directive in a circular sent to ministries, departments and agencies of the federal government. Yusuf, the son of President Muhammadu Buhari has reportedly returned back to Nigeria after undergoing further treatment for the head injuries he sustained in a motorbike accident he was involved in last December. Thisday reports, that the president's son returned to Nigeria February 26. Yusuf had broken a limb and sustained an injury to the head in an accident when himself and his friend were having a motorbike race in Abuja. He was rushed to the Cedarcrest hospital in Abuja where he had undergone a surgery at a clinic in Abuja. He as later transferred to Germany for further medical attention.

Federal government has assured Nigeria Labour Congress and the entire labour workforce that a new national minimum wage will commence, latest by end of September 2018. The Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, declared on Monday that the federal government would announce the new minimum wage before the end of the third quarter which is September. Ngige was speaking at the 40th Anniversary of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Abuja on Monday. The minister said: “In furtherance to the determination by the federal government to attain the decent work agenda which involves opportunities for works that are productive and deliver a fair income, security in workplace, and social protection for families; there have been overtime, three minimum wage reviews and currently the tripartite committee on national minimum wage is set to review the current minimum wage.
