Enough has not been heard of this Maina Reinstatement saga as a leaked memo by Head of Service, Winnifred Oyo-Ita has revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari knew about the re-appointment of ex-pension reform boss Abdulrasheed Maina into the civil service, and was warned about the implications to his anti-corruption war. It seems the president turned deaf ears to the warnings. Her memo was sent to the Chief of Staff to the President, Mr. Abba Kyari. It was dated October 23. Part of it says: “Further to your letter Ref. The party leadership who expressed their happiness said it has caught a big fish from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Jigawa state. The 'decampee' Alhaji Danladi Sankara, who was a former Senator representing Jigawa Northwest, dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and was received by the Jigawa Governor, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru at the Malam Aminu Kano triangle Square on Sunday in Dutse. Badaru said that the defection of the former senator was a welcome development to the party in the state. The governor said that the APC had caught a big fish, because of Sankara’s pedigree in his former party. He said; “With his defection to APC, PDP is completely dead in Jigawa because Sankara is one of the founders of PDP in the country and the person that brought it to jigawa,’’.

African Development Bank (AfDB) has called off a $400 million loan to Nigeria that would have helped fund the country’s budget, Reuters reports. The money has been redirected to specific projects, a vice president at the lender said yesterday. The AfDB had been in talks with Nigeria for around a year to release the second, $400 million tranche of a $1 billion loan to shore up its budget for 2017, as the government tried to reinvigorate its stagnant economy with heavy spending. But Nigeria has not met the terms of the international lenders, which also included the World Bank, to enact various reforms, including allowing its currency, the naira, to float freely on the foreign exchange market.

Kogi state Governor, Yahaya Bello, has allegedly paid no less than N129m for 300 pages of a national newspaper to publish names of civil servants that have been paid their salaries in the state. El-Rufai, Police Ordered To Pay Audu Maikori N40m Over Unlawful Arrest

Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday ordered Kaduna State Governor, El-rufai to pay the sum of N40m to the President of Chocolate City Group, Audu Maikori, as compensation for his unlawful arrest. The court also awarded N10m exemplary damages, with 10% interest in favour of Audu Maikori Delivering judgement in the fundamental human rights enforcement suit filed by Maikori on May 5, 2017, Justice John Tsoho ordered the four respondents including, Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir el-Rufai, and the police to pay the damages to the applicant. The other respondents to the suit are the Inspector-General of Police and the Attorney-General of Kaduna State. Management of Osun State University, Osogbo (UNIOSUN), Osogbo has announced its plan to increase the institution's tuition fees by 140% by next academic session. Amiloaded gathered that the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Olabode Popoola, has formally informed parents with wards in the university of the development. Under the new tuition regime, fresh non science students that used to pay N150,500 will as from 2017/2018 academic session, pay N210,500, while those going for Sciences, Anatomy/Physiology will have to pay N245,500, a over 120% increment from the previous N110,500. Also, from the N135,500 paid last session, Nursing and Law students are to pay N285,500.
