APC 'crashes' In Kaduna as over 5000 members dumps party for PDP

Fears hits the All Progressives Congress as5,558 of it members defected to the PDP in the 23 local government areas in Kaduna state yesterday May 7th. The defectors were received by the PDP leadership at Zonkwa, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area. Former PDP National Caretaker Committee Chairman, Ahmed Makarfi who received them, welcomed them, adding that gradually the former ruling party was positioning itself to regain it’s lost glory. “God-willing, the prayers of the masses is heard and will be answered,” he said. He urged the people in the state to turnout en-mass  on May 12th and vote PDP candidates in the state local council elections.

The governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El-Rufai has described the three senators representing the state in the senate as Useless and ignorant, adding that God will never bless them. The governor who is at loggerheads with all the senators, said this while speaking at the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress’ campaign for the local government election in the state which held at the Kaduna Township Stadium on May 4th. According to him, the three senators namely Shehu Sani (Kaduna Central), Sulieman Hukunyi (Kaduna North), and Danjuma Leah (Kaduna South), worked against the $350m the state asked from the world bank.  “The senators from the state who worked against the World Bank loan are useless; they came out and said this loan should not be given. Gunmen attack Kaduna village,kills 27 persons

No fewer than 27 people are feared killed and several others injured after gunmen attacked Gwaska village in Birnin Gwari local government area of Kaduna State on May 5th. According to reports, the gunmen stormed the community at about 7pm and began shooting sporadically. They burnt down homes and other valuable properties of residents of the community. Most of the victims were said to be men who were preventing the gunmen from attacking the vulnerable members of the community. This attack comes barely a week after local miners were massacred by gunmen at Janruwa community also in Birnin-Gwari local government area of the State.

Kaduna senator escapes been killed by heavily armed ‘thugs’ in Kaduna

Senator representing Kaduna North, Suleiman Hunkuyi, on Sunday escaped being killed by ‘thugs’ during a political gathering of stakeholders and leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), in Kaduna state. Hunkuyi told his supporters during the meeting to resist an alleged plan to impose candidates on them during the APC congresses scheduled from May 5, 2018. However, thugs chanting, “Kaduna sai Uba Sani, Kaduna Sai El-Rufai in 2019″, stormed ENDwell Hotel in the city centre, venue of the meeting, brandishing all kinds of weapons and throwing stones on those at the meeting. Those who sustained injuries are receiving treatment at Barau Dikko and Garkuwa hospitals in the metropolis and many vehicles were destroyed by the suspects. Gvernor, Nasir El-Rufai son, Bello and his wife, Kamilah, have welcomed a daughter. Sharing the photo of the new born he wrote; ''Alhamdullilah. Last night at 9:36, my wife, Kamilah El-Rufai gave birth to a baby girl. They are both in good health. Please pray for us. Indeed, this is the happiest day of my life''.  The couple got married in April 2015.

Politics taken far as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna state declares the state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, missing. The party said El-Riufai was declared missing due to his alleged lack of adherence to law and order and dereliction of duty. The party said the governor purportedly breached the law by being absent from his duty post as the state’s elected governor. The governor has not been seen in public for over 10 days and there is no formal explanation from his aides about his whereabouts. The PDP Chairman Kaduna State Chapter, Felix Hyat, in a statement signed by the Publicity Secretary, Abraham Catoh, raised the concern over the governor’s absence. “For more than 11 days running, governor El-Rufai of Kaduna State has disappeared from public glare, without transmitting power to his deputy,” the statement said. Sen. Shehu Sani Fingered in murder case

Kaduna state senator Shehu Sani has been invited by the police after suspect mentioned him in an ongoing homicide investigation. Consequently, Austin Iwar, the police commissioner in the state has written to the senator asking him to appear on April 30 at the Command Headquarters in Kaduna for questioning. “This is in connection with a case of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide transferred to this office by 1 Division, Nigerian Army, Kaduna, alongside with exhibit audio CD in which your name was mentioned by the principal suspect,” Iwar said in a letter to Sani, who represent Kaduna Central at the red chamber. “This is to enable us fairly and timely conclude investigation into the matter, Mr Iwar said,” Iwar said in the letter addressed to Sani through the Clerk of the National Assembly. Governor El-rufai To Conduct Competency Test For Secondary School Teachers in the state

The Kaduna state government says it is planning on conducting a competency test for secondary school teachers in the state after conducting for primary school teachers. It could be recall that over 21, 000 primary school teachers in the state failed the primary 4 set of questions given to them during their competency test conducted.  Governor Nasir El-Rufai via his official twitter handle, revealed that a competency test for secondary school teachers is underway. He also revealed that the state government has decided to pay urban teachers twenty seven and half percent higher than average civil servants and rural teachers thirty two and half percent higher to attract the best.

 Concerned Indigenes of Kaduna Central Senatorial District, has launched a move to recall Shehu Sani, the senator representing the district at the Senate. The plan to recall the senator was announced in a statement signed on behalf of the group by Aliyu Saidu Rigachikun, who claimed to have been the Deputy Director-General of Mr. Sani’s senatorial campaign in 2015.

About 43,806 Masters & Degree Holders Apply For 25,000 Teaching Jobs In Kaduna Primary Schools

The Kaduna state government has began screening of 43,806 applicants for 25,000 teaching positions in its primary schools, with several MSc degree holders among the applicants. The list of applicants pasted on the notice board at Rimi College, Kaduna, one of the examination centres, showed that applicants held MSc degrees in biochemistry and water resources. The examination of the applicants was held in 130 centres across the 23 local government areas of the state.  Other centres include Government Secondary School (GSS), Kakuri; GSS, Narayi; and Government Girls Secondary School (GGSS), Ungwan Mua’zu.  The examination was conducted under tight security, with officers of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and police personnel stationed at the centres. Mary Ambi, a permanent member, Kaduna State Basic Education Board, said only those who scored the maximum points and possessed the required qualification would be contacted for an oral interview afterw...

Court Stops Gov. El-Rufai From Sacking Over 20,000 Teachers Who Failed Competency Test in Kaduna State

A Kaduna Division of the National Industrial Court has issued an order stopping the state government from going further with the plan to sack 21,780 primary school teachers that failed a competency test organised by the state government, LIB reports. Recall that in June, the state government organized a competency test for primary school teachers in the state. Sadly, over 21, 000 of the teachers failed the primary 4 set of questions given to them. Some of the scripts released by the state government showed that many of the teachers supplied ridiculous answers to basic questions they were asked. About two-thirds of the teachers that sat for the competency test, failed to score up to 75 percent. The state government afterward announced it will be terminating the appointment of the incompetent teachers. This decision caused the state union of teachers to on October 30th through their counsel, Samuel Atum, file a lawsuit against the state government over the planned mass sack....
