A journalist and a close ally of the Boko Haram sect,Ahmad Salkida, has opened a can of worms on the untold stories behind the abduction of some girls from a school in Chibok area of Borno State in 2014, Daily post reports. Salkida, who was once declared wanted by the military over his alleged connection to Boko Haram militants, revealed that the violent group had wanted the then government under Goodluck Jonathan to swap its detained members with the abducted girls but the deal hit the rocks. Salkida said his efforts to seal the deal were truncated at the eleventh hour by the then Chief of Defence Staff. In a series of tweets, detailing the yet-to-be-told story of the Chibok saga, the controversial journalist disclosed that at the moment, only 15 out of the 115 girls kidnapped by the insurgents were still alive. Oscar nominated actor, David Oyelowo has revealed he granted leadership scholarship to five freed Chibok girls who were abducted by Boko Haram on April 14, 2014. 

Nigeria's President, Muhammadu Buhari has revealed that the remaining 113 Chibok school girls that are still in Boko Haram captivity will soon be released. Speaking at the launch a book on the giant strides of his administration in Abuja yesterday, President Buhari said... 'During the year it was my great pleasure to secure the release of 102 Chibok school girls. We are doing our best quietly and effectively as possible to get the rest released. We are working day and night with our international partners to release the remaining girls as soon as possible, as well as women and children still on captivity.” he added.

 BBC reports that the Federal government paid 2 million euros and released 5 imprisoned Boko Haram bomb makers in exchange for the 82 Chibok school girls released on May 6th.

According to Guardian UK, former President Goodluck Jonathan blocked the British armed forces in 2014, from rescuing nearly 300 Chibok schoolgirls kidnapped by the Boko Haram.

Barely three weeks after 21 Chibok girls were released by Boko Haram, one more girl has been freed. The girls were part of 200 female students abducted from Chibok, Borno State in 2014.

276 schoolgirls were abducted from a Government Secondary School in Chibok, Borno State, two years ago.
