There's uproar following review of MTN Nigeria data plans subsription for subscribers. The firm didn't cut down on data allocations of its plans, but instead restricted some of its use to night time only. The former N500 weekly plan which gets one 750MB will still give one 750MB but you'll only be able to use 500MB during the day while the remaining 250MB, termed "bonus data", has been restricted to night use. Telecom operators in the country have demanded 100 per cent increase in data and voice calls as a result in rising cost of production, sources within the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) told Dailytrust newspaper.

Nigeria's MTN has revamped its MTN Pulse tariff plan. Before now, customers on the plan are charged 20k/s before being allowed a flat rate of 11k/s for calls across all networks after spending N10 daily. Now, subscribers will be charged 22k/s. This means that they will enjoy the 11k/s flat rate after spending N11 daily.
