Crisis still rocking the Ekiti state chapter of the APC as the Minister of Mines and Steel, Kayode Fayemi, walked out of a meeting with the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu and some party leaders held with the governorship aspirants of the APC in Ekiti State, on Tuesday. The meeting took place at the Lagos state government house in Asokoro, Abuja. Some of the party leaders in attendance were: Pioneer chairman of the party, Bisi Akande; Former Ogun Governor, Segun Osoba; Former Ekiti Governor, Niyi Adebayo and zonal vice chairman of the APC in the south-west, Pius Akinyelure. After about two hours, there was a break and Fayemi walked out of the room ahead of other aspirants and party leaders. The All Progressives Congress (APC) ward congress in Ekiti state was postponed due to the violence that erupted during the exercise.  In the wake of the ugly incidence, the Governorship primary in Ekiti State, which was earlier marred with violence over alleged fraud being perpetrated by one of the leading aspirants, has been postponed indefinitely. Before the decision was taken, there was a serious violence at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, venue of the exercise, as agents of some strong contenders accused some security agencies of allegedly compromising the process in favour of former Governor Kayode Fayemi. The Ekiti state governor, Ayodele Fayose has taken to his twitter handle to condemn the attack and burning of some suspected herdsmen in Gboko, Benue state.

 Governor Fayose has taken to his twitter handle to condemn the killing of a Fulani man in the state and has ordered an investigation to be carried out so the killers of the herdsman will be brought to book. It could be recalled that, a Fulani herdsman was killed in Oke-Ako, Ekiti state on Monday January 15th.   According to him, his position as Governor and Chief Security officer of the state demands that he watches over everyone in the state irrespective of their tribe or state of origin.
