A Germany billionaire man,  Karl-Erivan Haub, has reportedly gone missing after failing to return from a skiing expedition in the Alps on April 7 2018. Haub, who is the owner and CEO of retail group Tengelmann, last week embarked on an off-piste skiing expedition in the resort of Zermatt near the Swiss-Italian border. According to Spiegel magazine, a search is underway for the 58-year-old, with Deutsche Welle adding that a spokesperson for Tengelmann said the search was proceeding at "full speed. " The search has been disrupted by poor visibility and the threat of avalanches, Deutsche Welle said. Haub was reportedly in Zermatt to train for the Patrouille des Glaciers ski race, an international long distance ski event organized by the Swiss army, scheduled to take place next week. Police in Germany have announce the arrest of Catalonia’s former president, Carles Puigdemont as he crossed over by car from Denmark.   Puigdemont “was yesterday at 11:19 am by Schleswig-Holstein’s highway patrol force,” a German police spokesman told AFP, adding that the detention was based on an European warrant.  “He is now in police custody”, the spokesman added.   Puigdemont’s party spokeswoman Anna Grabalosa also separately confirmed that he was detained on arrival in Germany from Denmark.  “It happened as he crossed the Danish-German border. He was treated well and all his lawyers are there. Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari has writen to the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel to congratulate her on her re-election for another term. The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, in a statement on Tuesday, said Buhari conveyed his congratulatory message to Merkel in a letter personally signed by him. Today, the Germany’s Parliament elected Angela Merkel as chancellor making it her court term and putting an end to nearly six months of political drift in Europe’s biggest economy.   Lawmakers voted 364-315 to reelect Merkel, Germany’s leader since 2005, who ran unopposed. The coalition of Merkel’s conservative Christian Democratic Union, its Bavaria-only sister party the Christian Social Union, and the center-left Social Democrats has 399 of the 709 seats in parliament.  Merkel will head a much-changed Cabinet, with the governing parties — which are traditional rivals keen to send signals of renewal after a September election in which all lost significant ground. German Football Association (DFB) announced Wednesday that each member of their squad will receive a 350,000 euros (N147,982,168.41) bonus should Germany defend their World Cup title next year in Russia. If the current champions win their fifth world title, Coach Joachim Löw and his squad stand to get an increase in prize money from the 300,000 euros they each got for winning the 2014 World Cup final in Brazil.
