Elderly woman, 92, declared dead wakes up inside freezing mortuary

Prosecutors in Germany have charged a doctor with negligent bodily harm after he mistook a woman for dead. The 92-year-old woman who had been declared dead suddenly woke up screaming inside a freezing mortuary. The 53-year-old doctor pronounced the seriously ill woman dead in March after a worker found her without a pulse and not breathing at a retirement home. Her body was taken to the Munstermann funeral parlour in Berlin where it was placed in a refrigerated room. But just hours later a worker at the funeral home heard shrieks coming from inside the room.

Buhari Appoints New Commissioner for Insurance

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday appointed Alhaji Mohammed Kari as the Commissioner for Insurance and Chief Executive of the National Insurance Commission. According to a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, the appointment, which is for a term of four years in the first instance, takes effect from Friday, July 31 2015. The new Commissioner for Insurance started his career with Royal Exchange Assurance in  1979.

GOODNEWS: Kaduna Refinery to hit 90 % Production Efficiency, says MD

The managing director, Kaduna Refining and Petrochemicals Company, Saidu Mohammed, on Friday said the refinery will hit 90 per cent production of its 110,000 installed capacity. It was gathered that the refinery had been operating at 60 per cent production capacity before commencement of the turn-around maintenance in October 2014. Mr. Mohammed, in an interview after a tour of the refinery with journalists, said the refinery has undergone turn around maintenance.

U.S. Trade Agency provides N250 billion support to Dangote refinery

The United States Trade and Development Agency, Thursday, announced a N251.3 billion training grant to Dangote Oil Refining Company to develop the critical human resources needed to run a refinery. FOR the second time in a week, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) yesterday quizzed the Senate President’s wife, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Saraki. She was grilled for another five and half hours, making her appearance before EFCC’s crack investigators a cumulative record of 11 hours. But Mrs. Saraki said the anti-graft agency only had a chat with her and not interrogation. According to sources, she arrived at the EFCC office at 10a.m and left at 3.35p.m.
