Few days back the Nigerian senate embarked on the amendment of the 1999 constitution and in one of it 33 amendments, senate voted to cut down president's powers in assenting bills thereby giving more powers to the upper chambers.

Nigeria's House of Representatives and the Senate as well as State Houses of Assembly are converged in Lagos state to conclude the work on the amendment of the 1999 constitution.

Mr Wammako has been pronounced dead.A member of the House of Representatives from Sokoto State, Mr. Abdullahi Wamakko, is dead.

Mrs Dorothy Mato, was supposed to be sworn in today following the sack of Herman Hembe from the House of Representatives by the supreme court.  But unfortunately,the House of Reps failed to swear her in to replace sacked lawmaker  The Nation reports.

This will not be the first news of a lawmaker involving in s-ex scandal.

The embattled lawmaker, Abdulmumin Jibrin, who was unjustly suspended by his colleagues for whistle-blowing ,wonders why President Buhari has been inactive in addressing the various issues rocking the leadership of the national assembly. 

 House of Representatives member, Nse Ekpenyong, was on Thursday arraigned at the Federal High Court, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, for alleged forgery of a polytechnic diploma.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara has expressed disappointment with the treatment meted out to the Peace Corps of Nigeria even with the passage of the bill to make it a national security outfit in Nigeria by the National Assembly.
