The advertisement, set in NNPC’s corporate colour with its logo, invited candidates with background in Sciences, Engineering, Business/Finance, Social Sciences, Arts/Humanities as well as Medical/Health Sciences to apply, giving required educational attainments of prospects to include: Master’s degree, Bachelor’s degree, Higher National Diploma (HND) and National Diploma. Ndu Ughamadu, the general manager, public affairs of the corporation, describing the advertisement as false, called on unsuspecting members of the public to be wary of the scam. Inspector-General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris, has revealed the areas where prospective police recruits will be assessed before their final selection,Daily Post reports. He made this disclosure in Abuja on Saturday while addressing Commissioners of Police and other senior officers nominated to serve as Heads of Police Recruitment Screening Committee in the 37 commands across the federation. The IGP, represented by the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Training and Development, DIG Emmanuel Inyang, warned the senior officers to be thorough and above board. Following the recent announcement to employ more security personnels in the Nigerian police force to combat crimes.  The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) will start recruiting Constables on Monday, May 7. Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the recruitment of 6,000 additional policemen as part of fresh measures to address the nation’s security challenges including the farmers/herdsmen clashes across the country.   Buhari, made this known in a special interview session with Voice of America, Hausa service, in Washington, United States on Tuesday morning. Former Deputy Governor (Economic Policies) at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN),Dr Joseph Nnanna, has been named the Chairman of Board of Nigeria Export Import Bank (NEXIM) by the Federal Government. Federal Government’s youth empowerment scheme, N-power has clarified its message to 2017 pre-selected applicants, Daily post reports. The scheme on Monday said 2017 pre-selected applicants who received messages of physical verification over the weekend and had done the exercise should ignore the message. In a tweet, the scheme explained that the message was for applicants who were absent during its December verification exercise. The tweet reads, “Good morning, “If you are a 2017 pre-selected applicant and you received a message to go for physical physical verification over the weekend and you were already verified in December, please ignore it. “The message is just for those who were absent at the physical verification in December.”

At least, 350 ex-agitators from the Niger Delta region, who graduated from various tertiary institutions across the world has beeen employed by federal government.  Paul Boroh, coordinator, presidential amnesty programme, PAP, made this known when he met newsmen in Abuja on Friday.   Boroh, who doubles as the special adviser to the president on Niger Delta, said the affected ex-agitators had already been posted to various federal ministries awaiting approval of the 2018 appropriation bill by the National Assembly.   “The federal government ensured that about 350 of them have been employed in the various ministries in the country. Nigerian Army has postponed date of its 77 Regular Recruit Intake exercise. The exercise scheduled to hold from Monday 26th February till Friday March 9th will no longer hold till further notice The announcement was issued in a statement  by Colonel Aliyu Yusuf for the Director, Army Public Relations. The officers of the Nigeria Police on Thursday stormed the national office of the Peace Corps of Nigeria located at Jabi, Abuja, to prevent the corps from taking possession of the office, Daily Post reports. The House of Representatives had on Tuesday, ordered that the Police should unseal the office within 48 hours, in compliance with the judgements of Justice Gabriel Kolawole and Justice John Tsoho of the Federal High Court, Abuja. This was announced in an advertisement signed by Mr. Jimoh Moshood, Force Public Relations Officer.   The advertisement, which invites applications from aspiring constables over the next six weeks, is free. Prospective applicants, it stated, must have the desire to have a career in the Nigeria Police Force in addition to fulfilling other general requirements. Previously, there were speculations that, the Nigeria Customs had started a mass recruitment of new personnel but it turned that the information was false.  According to a report on DailyPost , the Area Controller of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) for Borno and Yobe States, Joshua Angbalaga, has cleared the air about reports on mass recruitment exercise by the agency. Angbalaga told newsmen at a parley in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, on Wednesday, that the reports were false. He said when the time is right for customs to begin mass recruitment, the agency will inform the public accordingly.
