The 22nd MOBO Awards which held last night at the First Direct Arena in Leeds, United Kingdom has ended with Nigeria's WizKids beating Davido to win best International act. The ceremony also saw Stormzy add to his growing awards haul as he picked up three out of a possible five gongs at this year’s MOBO Awards. A Minister of Foreign affairs, Ambassador Oluyemi Adeniji, has died in London at age 83. Announcing his death, the National President of the Association of Retired Career Ambassadors of Nigeria(ARCAN) Amb. Dapo Fafowora, in a statement released yesterday, said the former diplomat, died on Sunday, November 26th. He served in Nigerian embassies in Washington, D.C., Freetown and Accra, Ghana. He retired from service in 1991 after serving as the Director-General of the Ministry of foreign affairs. For five years, he was the Nigerian Ambassador to France. He was appointed Foreign Affairs Minister by former President Olusegun Obasanjo. He served between July 2003 and June 2006, when he was moved to head the Ministry of Internal Affairs. May his soul rest in peace.

The Benue state Governor, Samuel Ortom, on Tuesday vowed to fish out all ghost workers stampeding financial development of the state. Ortom also said he would do everything possible to reduce the wage bill of the state from the current N7.8 billion to N4.5 billion. He told newsmen in Makurdi that part of the process to achieving the reduction of the state's monthly wage bill would ensure screening of all staff of the Benue State University (BSU) where at least N600 million is expended as salary each month. "I spend N600 million in BSU as salary every month so I'm ready to fight them now. They must undertake the screening exercise because I must fish out all ghost workers in the state," he said.

Nigerian Government has declared Friday as public holiday to mark the Eid-El-Maulud celebration. The Minister of Interior, Lt Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (retd.), made the declaration on behalf of the FG in a statement on Wednesday by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Abubakar Magaji. He admonished all Muslim faithful and Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for peace, progress and unity of the nation. He further urged all Nigerians to support President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration towards building the nation. “The minister wishes Nigerians a happy Eid-El-Maulud celebration,” the statement said.

The Paraguayan woman has been forced to undergo reconstructive surgery on her face after her jealous husband punched her every time someone 'liked' her pictures onFacebook. Adolfina Camelli Ortigoza, 21, had been held against her will in the couple's home and subjected to constant beatings by her 32-year-old husband, police say. When police were finally alerted, Ms Ortigoza had been so badly abused her body and face was disfigured and she required extensive surgery. Adolfina Camelli Ortigoza, 21, from Nemby, Paraguay, was 'punished' by her husband every time she got a positive reaction to one of her photos or posts on Facebook. Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday asked the Senate to confirm 10 nominees as members of the code of conduct bureau, with one of them as chairman. The senate President, Bukola Saraki read Buhari's letter during plenary. The academic staff, students and visitors to the University of Ibadan met the gates to the entrances of the university locked without prior warning LIB reports. According to sources, the non-academic staff of the university, comprising of Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities, NASU, Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU, and the Non-Academic Technicians, NAT, decided to lock the institution’s gate to press home their demands. The institution’s spokesperson, Tunji Oladejo said that the current issue was not a local one but as a result of a directive from the national bodies of the non-academic staff.  According to him, the government recently allocated about N25 billion for payment of earned allowances of staff.
