Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state has once again declare that why his son-inlaw,Uche Nwosu, who also doubles as his Chief of Staff to the Government House must become his successor, stating that he made no mistake by endorsing him. Governor Rochas Okorocha of IMO state yesterday, said the All Progressives Congress, APC, will rule the State for 24 years. In a statement to newsmen in Owerri, by his Chief Press Secretary, CPS, Sam Onwuemeodo, Okorocha said his political opponents are trying hard to use the said attack on Archbishop Anthony Obinna at the weekend Okorocha supported his son-in-law to be the next governor of Imo, by saying that,  “The same America, where George Walker Bush became the 43th president, from 2001 to 2009 after his father, George Herbert Walker Bush had been the country’s 41st president from 1989 to 1993. “At the moment, the All Progressives Congress, APC, holds the political ace in Imo and will continue to govern the state uninterruptedly for the next twenty-four years. “What gives victory in an election are achievements and the electorate and not blackmail or propaganda on social media.” he said.

Governor Rochas Okorocha Of Imo State, has approved the payment of November and December salaries to Civil Servants in the state. The governor said the move was to ensure that all civil servants in the state have a “seamless Christmas.” Okorocha’s approval was contained in a statement issued by the state Commissioner for Information, Nnamdi Obiaraeri. The terse statement reads, “This is to announce that the Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, has approved the immediate payment of the November and December 2017 salaries of Imo workers. “This is to enable our esteemed Imo workers to celebrate seamless Christmas. Payments have duly commenced. “Any worker encountering any difficulties with the approved payments should not hesitate to contact the Ministry of Happiness and Purpose Fulfillment for immediate intervention.”

This is strictly a family affair for the Okorocha's family as the Imo state assembly moves to please incumbent , endorses the Governor's inlaw to take over from him barely a week after he appointed his sister, Ogechi Ololo, as the Commissioner for Happiness and Purpose Fulfillment.  Mr. Uche Nwosu, who is son in-law to Governor Rochas Okorocha, is to succeed him in the state government House come 2019. Nwosu currently serves as Governor Okorcha’s Chief of Staff. The governor of IMO stat, Rochas Okorocha has appointed his biological sister, Mrs. Ogechi Ololo (nee Okorocha) as the Imo state commissioner of Happiness and Couples' Fullfilment. She was among the 28 new commissioners sworn in by the state government on Monday. She was the All Progressives Congress’ candidate into the House of Representatives for the Owerri Federal Constituency seat in 2015 and has served in various capacities since Okorocha became the state governor in 2011. She had, before her new appointment, served as her brother’s Deputy Chief of Staff and Special Adviser on Domestic Matters.

Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, yesterday said he ordered the demolition of popular Eke-Ukwu market in Owerri, the state capital, to deliver Imo people from a female deity. Gov Rochas made this known In a press release signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo. The statement reads in part: “One of the first things I did on assumption of office as governor was to build a befitting chapel in front of the Government House and also erected the statue of a man with the Holy Bible in his hand to show Imo people the direction of his administration. “And one of the reasons I also decided to demolish and relocate Ekeukwu Market was when the unfounded story of a female deity owning the market came up and I resolved that Imo people would never be in a market said to be owned by a deity.”

Rochas Okorocha of Imo state has stated that there will be no automatic election ticket for President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019 according to Vanguard. Rochas believes that it is the constitutional right of the President to seek the mandate of the party for his re-election. He said all processes for the nomination of the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidates in all categories of position must pass through democratic process and must be transparent. He however, noted that Buhari is healthier and stronger now than before he took ill.

The governor of Imo State,  Rochas Okorocha, has claimed that Igbos play ‘worst politics’ in the country. Speaking during an interactive session with top media practitioners, in Owerri, he said.

Scores of pensioners on Tuesday marched along major streets of Owerri, the Imo capital to protest payment of only 40 per cent arrears of pension to retirees by the Imo Government.

No fewer than 10 persons have been reported dead after some unidentified hoodlums raided two communities, Umuokeduru and Imeni in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State. It was gathered that the armed hoodlums stormed the two communities at night when people were fast asleep. Although no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, however, residents believe that the act was carried out by some aggrieved ex-militants, who were left out in the amnesty programme of the state and Federal Governments. According to a villager, who spoke with Vanguard, “two former commanders of the militants, who are now living very big, are among the natives of the two communities attacked by the rampaging hoodlums. “The two ex-militant commanders now live like kings in choice hotels in Owerri, while their former colleagues live in abject poverty and want.
