The Plateau State goernor, Simon Bako Lalong, has dissolved the entire State Executive Cabinet with effect from Thursday, February 8, 2018.

A serving Nigerian senator and former Plateau state governor, Jonah Jang, has stated in recent interview that the Nigerian senate is not meant for young people who have no political pedigree and experience.  Mr Jang, who is alleged to be over 70 years old, said this when he spoke on a TV programme on February 3rd. When asked to react to plans by his proteges to take over his seat in the senate since he has clocked 73 and is expected to retire. Jang said the House of Representatives would be good for younger politicians. “The Senate is not for good for young people, only the House of Representatives is good enough.” Jang said

Plateau state is currently on fire  as a woman and two men are reported  killed on Wednesday in a communal clash in Josho, a village in Daffo District of Bokkos Local Government.

The Benue state governor, Samuel Ortom on Tuesday said he had accepted and forgiven his colleague, the Plateau state Governor, Simon Lalong over the comment he made in the heat of Benue killings before he even tendered an apology Premium Times reports.

No fewer than eleven person where reportedly killed on Tuesday night while 4 inured by gunmen along Rim, Riyom Local Government Area of northern Plateau State, Premium Times reports.. The Police Public Relations Office of the Plateau State Police Command, Terna Tyopev, confirmed the incident on Wednesday morning. “Eleven people who were returning from a weekly village market of Makera were shot dead at about 7:30 p.m., four others are injured.” He said police are on the trail of the attackers. “No arrest yet, but investigation are ongoing, and we shall definitely get to the roots of this,” the spokesperson said.

No fewer than Six Fulani herdsmen are reported to have been killed and beheaded by suspected members of a militant group named Irigwe in Kuri village in Bassa local government area of Plateau state on Sunday, October 15th. According to reports, the incident occurred on Sunday, October 15th, at about 3pm when the Fulani herdsmen while grazing their cattle at Kuri village in Bassa LGA were attacked, slaughtered, beheaded and their heads catered away by the Irigwe militia. In addition, a total of forty (40) sheep nine (9) cows were macheted and killed and a total of two hundred and thirty-two (232) herds of cattle belonging to the families of the deceased persons were rustled. A few days back there was pandemonium in Plateau state over attack by suspected herdsmen in Nkiedonwhro village of Irigwe chiefdom in Bassa Local Government Area where at least 29 lives ,mostly women and children were killed. Three others sustained various degrees of injuries forcing Governor Solomon Dalung to declare a dusk to dawn curfew in the local government area. Inspite of the curfew , the attacks have persisted in the villages with many residents already fleeing the troubled area. Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the military and the Police to put mechanism in place to ensure that there is no reprisal attacks in Plateau State. No fewer than twenty persons have  been killed in a fresh attack in Bassa local government area of Plateau state, TheCable reports. A source told the online medium that the attack occurred in Miango district of the area on Monday morning. But Tyopev Mathias Terna, spokesman of the state police command, could not confirm the incident. “I am not aware of this attack. I just left a live radio programme and I have not been be briefed on any attack, he told TheCable.
