The special adviser to the President Muhammadu Buhari on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, has come out to set the record straight about the newly appointed DG of NIA, Ahmed Abubakar and the controversy sorounding his CV.

 New Telegraph reports that the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has sacked a Finance director of NIA. This is coming as the Presidential Committee investigating the source and ownership of the N15 billion discovered in an apartment ‎at Osborne Towers, Ikoyi, Lagos State prepares to wind down, the situation has relieved the appointment of the Director of Finance of the Nigeria Intelligence Agency (NIA) Mr. Abubakar Dardisu. Dardisu was said to have been removed by the National Security Adviser, (NSA) Major. Gen. Babagana Monguno (rtd) and replaced with a serving military officer. A source within the agency,said the replacement of Dardisu with a military officer is causing concern to the management of NIA.  The source, explained that though the NIA management was not averse to the removal of Dardisu as Director of Finance his replacement with a military personnel appeared to have gone against the rules of the establishment.

Director-General of National Intelligence Agency (NIA) ,Ayodele Oke,  and David Babachir Lawal, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), on Monday were quizzed for hours at the Villa by the Presidential Investigative Panel probing the $43 million found by operatives of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC and the North-east contract scam.

 Presidential Investigative Committee has asked the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Babachir Lawal, and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Mr. Ayo Oke to submit 9 important documents on or before Monday, April 24, 2017.
