Former Edo State Governor,Adams Oshiomhole has formally declared his intention to run for the office of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC. Speaking during his declaration in Abuja, on Thursday, the former governor said he was contesting for the office to make a difference. According to the former Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, President, he will contribute and continue the development made by the incumbent Chairman, John Oyegun. Oshiomhole said, “I’am running for the office of the National Chairman because everything can get better and because its in line with the party’s constitution. “I’m willing to contest so as to make a difference and contribute to what Oyegun has done in the party. “Mind you my running does not mean Oyegun has failed but to continue with his works. My contesting is not to lament the use of power but ensure good membership base.”

Pro-Buhari senator, Ovie Omo-Agege has win his lawsuit against the Nigerian senate after court nullified his suspension. Justice Nnamdi Dimgba of the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court gave the ruling on Thursday afternoon. Mr Dimgba said the Senate’s decision regarding the suspension, as well as the pattern adopted by the National Assembly, was constitutionally defective. Mr Omo-Agege, representing Delta Central, had approached the court, after the Senate’s committee on ethics and privileges began investigating his comments condemning the Senate over the National Assembly’s decision to amend the electoral act. During a deliberation in February, Mr Omo-Agege alleged a conspiracy by his colleagues against President Muhammadu Buhari, following the decision of the legislature to amend section 25 of the electoral act. National leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu, has revealed what leaders of the party discussed with Ekiti governorship aspirants in Abuja. Tinubu said the governorship aspirants demanded for direct primaries for the conduct of the rescheduled primaries, as provided for in Article 20 of the party’s constitution. He said the aspirants noted that the “Direct Primaries” would enable every card-carrying member of the party vote for candidate of their choice. This was contained in a statement signed by Tinubu, Chief Bisi Akande, Aremo Olusegun Osoba, Otunba Niyi Adebayo and Chief Pius Akinyelure. Ekiti APC Primary: Fayemi walks out of meeting with Tinubu..

Crisis still rocking the Ekiti state chapter of the APC as the Minister of Mines and Steel, Kayode Fayemi, walked out of a meeting with the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu and some party leaders held with the governorship aspirants of the APC in Ekiti State, on Tuesday. The meeting took place at the Lagos state government house in Asokoro, Abuja. Some of the party leaders in attendance were: Pioneer chairman of the party, Bisi Akande; Former Ogun Governor, Segun Osoba; Former Ekiti Governor, Niyi Adebayo and zonal vice chairman of the APC in the south-west, Pius Akinyelure. After about two hours, there was a break and Fayemi walked out of the room ahead of other aspirants and party leaders. He ignored reporters who approached him, entered his car and his driver sped off. Akande, however, addressed reporters afterwards, stating that the outcome of the meeting would be presented to the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party. ...

Fears hits the All Progressives Congress as5,558 of it members defected to the PDP in the 23 local government areas in Kaduna state yesterday May 7th. The defectors were received by the PDP leadership at Zonkwa, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area. Former PDP National Caretaker Committee Chairman, Ahmed Makarfi who received them, welcomed them, adding that gradually the former ruling party was positioning itself to regain it’s lost glory. “God-willing, the prayers of the masses is heard and will be answered,” he said. He urged the people in the state to turnout en-mass  on May 12th and vote PDP candidates in the state local council elections.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) ward congress in Ekiti state was postponed due to the violence that erupted during the exercise.  In the wake of the ugly incidence, the Governorship primary in Ekiti State, which was earlier marred with violence over alleged fraud being perpetrated by one of the leading aspirants, has been postponed indefinitely. Before the decision was taken, there was a serious violence at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, venue of the exercise, as agents of some strong contenders accused some security agencies of allegedly compromising the process in favour of former Governor Kayode Fayemi. The Chairman of the APC Primary and Nasarawa State Governor, Alhaji Tanko Al-Makura hurriedly entered his vehicle and left the venue after an emergency meeting with all the 33 aspirants, failed to yield result. Nigeria's former President, Olusegun Obasanjo on Saturday declared that Nigerians should prepare their minds that it may not be easy to change the present government of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019. The John Oyegun-led national working committee of the All Progressives Congress has released dates for the holding of the congresses and convention. The state congresses are to hold on Saturday may 19 while the national convention is slated for Saturday June 23. The 2018 ward congresses to elect ward officers will hold on Saturday, May 5, 2018, Monday 7th -Wednesday 9th may, 2018 will be for appeals from ward congresses; local government congresses to elect LGA officers will hold on Saturday, May 12, 2018. From Monday 14th – Wednesday 16th may, 2018 is slated for appeals from LGA congresses Saturday 19th may 2018 state congresses to elect state officers. While Monday 21st – Wednesday 23rd may, 2018 is for  appeals from state congresses. The national convention of the party to elect national officers will hold on Saturday, June 23, 2018.
