But , her write-up was full of blunders from the beginging to end which has angered most people to question how she got that far in the first place to even be celebrating a graduation. People shaa. Following massive protest by the students of the tertiary institution after some of their colleagues were chased out of school over unpaid school fees. The management of the Benue state University has suspended exams and shot down the school till further notice. Accirding to reports, BSU Students hit the streets of Makurdi ,the Benue State capital to protest their being chased out of school by the University Management because of failure to pay school fees, which they say is a consequence of non payment of the parents' salaries and pensions by the Governor. Some of them held placards indicating that snakes had swallowed moneys meant for their fees. See below the press statement from school management.

The Governing Council of Benue State University, Makurdi has observed with dismay that the University has in its vaults a high number of certificates which have been signed but have not been collected by their owners who are graduates of various degree and diploma programmes. 2. Consequently, Management has approved a grace period of three months, commencing from 1st December, 2017 to 28th February, 2018 during which all graduates of the University, from the pioneer sets of graduates in 1996 to those of the 2013/2014 Academic Session, must collect their certificates. 3. Graduates who fail to collect their certificates after 28th February, 2018 shall pay a mandatory penalty of one Hundred Naira (N100, 00) only per each day of default. 4. According to a report on TheNation , only University of Lagos (UNILAG) has full accreditation to offer Law among public and private universities in the country. The Council of Legal Education disclosed this in a list of accredited and approved faculties of Law in Nigeria published on Wednesday and signed its Secretary and Director of Administration of the Council. The accreditation of three universities; Lagos State University, University of Abuja and Benue State University have been suspended. Twenty seven others have Provisional Accreditation; five have Interim accreditation while 19 others have approval to commence. According to the Council, Suspended Accreditation means the faculty of Law has its accreditation suspended while those with Interim accreditation are still subject to further accreditation. The Secretary General, Students Union Government of the Benue State University, Terkula Lubem is alleged to be in a coma following attack on him by some suspected student cultists led by one Felix and Team Agber Terseer. Terkula, was rushed to the school clinic for immediate medical attention. Management of Benue State University, Makurdi, has approved a Mop-up Post- UTME screening of candidates who applied for admission for the 2017/2018 session but could not sit for the PUTME test which ended Wednesday, 11th October, 2017. The Mop- up screening is for two categories of candidates: 1 Candidates who registered but missed the Post- UTME screening test 2 Candidates who were unable to register and document for the just concluded post- UTME before the University portal was closed. Therefore: i. Candidates who Registered But Missed the Post-UTME Screening Test should  log onto the BSU Portal and register for fresh post-UTME test (no further payment for this category of candidates);  Print out acknowledgment slip and proceed to their Faculty for fresh documentation; and  bring along the newly signed acknowledgment slip and JAMB print-out to the venue of the test to be held on 23rd and 24th October, 2017. ii.  A student of faculty of Law, Benue state university Makurdi identified as Miss. Karen Bitto is alleged to have challenged her result in Constitutional Law, a course she studied in 200 level with Dr. Yangien Ornguga as the course lecturer. According to sources who reached out to Queendoosh crew, Miss. Karen who happens to be the best student in her class brought her father, Prof. Bitto, a lecturer with Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi to challenge her result after she scored below pass mark in constitutional law. It is also reported that it took the swift intervention of the Dean of Law, Dr. Vitalis Tarhule to douse the tension the whole drama was going to create by directing another lecturer of constitutional law in the faculty to remark her script. Benue State University Management has announced that the school will open on Monday, 24th July 2017 following the suspension of a three months strike action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU and other staff unions. 

The Benue State University ASUU chapter has suspended it three months old strike today after meeting. Though,  the chairman ASUU is yet to officially send out a press statement in that regard but the strike has been suspended.  According to a trusted source who sent tin he news, he said the Senate of the institution will be meeting tomorrow to announce resumption date and to also adjust school calendar, to announce resumption date immediately.  More details....

The department of Mass Communication, Benue State University, Makurdi went wild yesterday as the students celebrated what they called “Rag Day”. The event saw male students dress as females while others put on rags as they paraded around the campus.  The rag day is part of their departmental week celebration which started on Monday.
