Famous Nigerian femunist activist, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie recently spoke with The Guardian UK and she touched on topics such as feminism, racism, how pregnancy affects women’s growth, the #MeToo movement and women and the culture of likeability. She also explained why she's not on Twitter. Speaking on the #MeToo movement, the Purple Hibiscus author said: I feel optimistic. But cautiously optimistic. Nigeria's Organised Labour says it will not allow the Tripartite Committee for National Minimum Wage to alter the time line for the implementation of the new wage for workers in the country. NLC President, Ayuba Wabba, said this during a Pre-May Day Symposium organised by the NLC and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) on Monday in Abuja. “We will make sure that the time line that has been set by the Tripartite Committee for the implementation of the national minimum wage will not in any way be altered or undermined”, NAN quoted him as saying. “Workers, who create wealth, must also be well taken care of as we are not unmindful of the situation of the Nigerian workers, particularly, with the increasing inflation in the land. “So, clearly speaking, the minimum wage is an issue we will continue to canvass for. Abubakar Malami, (SAN), Nigeria's Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF)  on Monday told the Federal High Court Abuja that the suspension of Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege was unconstitutional, illegal and unlawful,Daily post reports. Malami, who is the 3rd defendant in the ongoing suit brought by Omo-Agege challenging his suspension from the Senate, made his position known through his counsel, Mr Dayo Apata. Apata, who doubles as the Solicitor-General of the Federation, in his submission, said that the role of the AGF was to defend and protect the constitution, adding that he had to react to any issue that had to do with the constitution. “According to Section 4(8), 39, 40 of the Constitution and Articles of the African Charter on Human Rights, all the actions of the senate relating to the suspension of the plaintiff (Omo-Agege) are unconstitutional, illegal and unlawful,” he told the court. The solicitor-general urged the court to hold that the senate’s actions were unlawful. ...

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state has appointed Miracle  as Imo State Education Ambassador.  Economic Confidential has released its Annual States Viability Index (ASVI) which shows that seventeen (17) States are insolvent as their Internally Generated Revenues (IGR) in 2017 were far below 10% of their receipts from the Federation Account Allocations (FAA) in the same year. The index proved that without the monthly disbursement from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC), many states remain unviable, and cannot survive without the federally collected revenue, mostly from the oil sector. The IGR are generated by states through Pay-As-You-Earn Tax (PAYE), Direct Assessment, Road Taxes and revenues from Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDA)s. The report further indicates that the IGR of Lagos State of N333bn is higher than that of 30 States put together whose Internally Generated Revues are extremely low and poor compared to their allocations from the Federation Account. The meeting was confirmed by Buhsri’s Personal Assistant on New Media, Ahmad Bashir, via his Twitter handle. The meeting holding at the Oval office, is centered around “Security, Economy, Nigeria-US relationships.” The tweet reads, “President @MBuhari and US President @realDonaldTrump are now meeting in the Oval Office. Rage driven Argentine woman,by name Brenda Barattini, has allegedly cut off her boyfriend’s pen!s with gardening scissors saying she was provoked because he showed his friends their homemade s*x tape. The 26-year-old Barattini, allegedly committed the revenge attack in the Nueva Cordoba area of the Argentine city of Cordoba last November, which left her 40-year-old boyfriend with 90 percent of his pen!s chopped off, and in life-threatening condition.   Barattini, who is serving imprisonment without bail ahead of her trial, said she suffered great psychological harm because of the leaked tape by her boyfriend Sergio Fernandez.  “I cut his pen!s but not completely: I injured him.
