After a few days to defecting from the All Progressives Congress, APC, campaign buses of the former vice president Atiku Abubakar has emerged online with the logo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). According to the photos posted on Twitter by one, JikanMadawaki‏ @Abab_Saad on Sunday with the inscription of the buses as: “Yes, Atiku for 2019 Nigeria” with the PDP logo. The former Vice president was also seen inspecting some of the cars in Yola, Adamawa state capital. This is coming after the Adamawa chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) confirmed the receipt of the resignation letter of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar from the ruling party. Also the former APC chieftain was reported to have met with some PDP leaders over the weekend with the backing of the former President, Goodluck Jonathan ahead of 2019 presidential election. 25 council chairmen of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Niger state have embarrassed Governor Sani Bello by rejecting car gifts given to to them by the governor. The “embarrassing” decision by the party chairman has continued to dominate discussions around political landscape in the state, according to Daily. It was gathered that the governor had met with the council chairmen of the party officially for the first time in November since he assumed office two years ago. After the meeting that lasted for over four hours, the governor was said to have offered each of them a Toyota Camry car, 2013 model as their official car to facilitate their movement in their various local government areas but the chairmen were said to have rejected the vehicles. The party chairmen were said to have told the governor that they could not collect the cars because they did not have what it takes to maintain such “exotic car”, more so that the party executives at the local government ...

Alhaji Jafaru Sani, the Kaduna State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, the state government has sacked 4,042 local government staff in the state's 23 LGAs. 3,159 sacked staff had put in 10 years and were retired while the remaining 893 had their jobs terminated. He said exercise was part of the ongoing restructuring of the local government system for effective service delivery. The Permanent Secretary, Local Government Commission, Mr Mahmud Zailani, corroborated this, saying the restructuring was part of Gov. Nasir El-Rufai’s campaign promise to strengthen public service.

Leader of the National Association of Nigerian Students, Bayelsa State chapter, and seven other undergraduates have been arrested by the Bayelsa State Police Command for alleged murder of a student. The Bayelsa NANS leader, Perewari Benjamin, a 400-level student of the state-owned Niger Delta University, Amassoma, alongside his accomplices were arrested after a driver reported the case to operatives of the State Anti-Robbery Squad. The suspects are Asari Enagob, 400 level; Suoguai Bina, 500 level; Ibe Ogbonna, 300 level; Igbanibo Tari, 400 level; Ekperi Kenneth, 400 level; Kemefie Ebimene, 200 level, Chukwuma Lawrence. The state Commissioner of Police, Asuquo Amba, parading the suspects lamented the involvement of the students in the alleged murder, adding that they were arrested after a driver whom they assaulted and hired his bus without paying flagged down a a patrol van of operatives of the State Anti-Robbery Squad around the area. On Tuesday, Uhuru Kenyatta was sworn in for a second term as president of Kenya, after wunning a second term. Kenyatta, 56, took two oaths of office as his second five-year term was sealed by the signature of Chief Justice David Maraga. An election victory in August was overturned by the Supreme Court, forcing him to face a re-run that was boycotted by the opposition.

More trouble for former Benue state governor,Gabriel Suswam as the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), seals three of his properties in  Benue State. The inscription ‘EFCC keep off’ were sprawled across his properties. They include the Metropolitan hotel along FMC road, a residential building still under construction by the river side and his family home in HUDCO quarters all in Makurdi. This development might be connected with the alleged misappropriation of N107 billion by Suswam as contained in the Justice Elizabeth Kpojime’s Panel of Inquiry which indicted 52 other people.
