Again , APC Governors Move To End Senate Crisis

All Progressive Congress (APC) leadership met last night, July 30, to strategize on how to deal with the economic challenges in the country and resolve major problems in the party especially as it concerns the lingering stand-off in the senate.
 The Governors of the 22 states controlled by the All Progressives Congress (APC) met at about 9 pm at the Imo State Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja.

The meeting which was also attended by the party’s National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun is part of on-going efforts of the party to resolve the divisions among its members in the Senate.
Reports has it that the party leaders considered the report of a committee set up to mediate in the crisis in the National Assembly. The committee which is chaired by the Governor Adams Oshiomole of Edo state was saddled with the responsibility of mediating in the Senate crisis.
Governors at the meeting were Adams Oshiomole (Edo), Nasir el-Rufai (Kaduna), Rauf Arebegsola (Osun), Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara), Rochas  Okorocha (Imo), Umar Ganduje (Kano), Kashim Shettima (Borno), Samuel Ortom (Benue).
Others included Simon Lalong (Plateau), Senator Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi), Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto), Sani Bello (Niger), and Tanko Al-Makura (Nassarawa), while the deputy governors of Oyo and Lagos States represented their governors.
APC lawmakers in the National Assembly have been divided since the controversial elections of Bukola Saraki and Yakubu Dogara as the Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives respectively against the party’s directives.
On Wednesday, July 29, the leadership of the party commended the lawmakers in the lower chamber for being matured as Femi Gbajabiamila emerged Majority Leader of the House on Tuesday, July 28. However, the crisis in the Senate still lingers with majority of the lawmakers in the upper chamber recently passing a vote of confidence on Senate leadership.
