Re: Commissioning of Already Commissioned Building
In times of moral decadence, telling the truth becomes a holy act. A response to Mr. Sunday Akoji.
Contrary to the information credited to Sunday Akoji to the effect that the Wife of the Governor commissioned an already commissioned building in Otukpo on the 29th September, 2015, I write to set the records straight.
The Centre for
Integrated Health Programs (CIHP) is a United States funded agency that
has been involved in providing Health Services to Nigeria, and Benue
State. They do not draw funding from Benue State. And the facility is
not owned by the state government.
2. CIHP wrote a letter requesting Her Excellency, Wife of the Governor of Benue State, Mrs. Eunice Ortom to perform the official commissioning of an Adolescent and Youth Friendly Centre, which they established at the General Hospital Otukpo. In a move to encourage private sector and NGOs contribution to the development of Benue State, the Wife of the Governor directed Mrs. James Okefe to represent her and perform the unveiling of the centre.
3. The Youth Wellness Centre is equipped with skills acquisition facilities, computers and internet services, with free wifi, indoor game facilities provided for the youth of Otukpo to serve as a measure to positively occupy the youths socially and mentally. While they equally have the opportunity to interact with clinicians at the centre on HIV/AIDS and related diseases. It also provides library facilities for academic purpose. A centre of attraction for youths, funded by the United State Government through its agency, CIHP.
4. It was for the above reasons that the Wife of the Governor considered it worthy to be part of the unveiling of the centre.
5. The government of His Excellency, Samuel Ortom is always ready to encourage and accept any contribution to the development of Benue State.

I just heard with one ear that the wife of the Benue State Governor, (She prefers First Lady) Mrs Ortom is REcommissioning a building that was commissioned by Sen David Mark several years ago when he was Senate President.

Overheard a sham
renovation was carried out on the said building at a very very
outrageously hyper mega galloping inflated budget and the renovated
building is what Madam First Lady is recommissioning.
Where is this charade taking place?
On your way into the General Hospital, Oturkpo there's a building by your left, which is a Special Treatment Centre for HIV/AIDS patients.
The said building was renovated by an NGO called CIHP (Center For Integrated Health Program) when it was ICAP (International Centre for AIDS Prevention, or something like that) and made it special treatment centre.
Today, they did some paintings, removed the old sign post and the wife of my Gomina is REcommissioning the same building that was commissioned by Senator David Mark again!
The plague that reads:
"This building was commissioned by Sen David Mark" has been removed and replaced with "This building was commissioned by the wife of the Benue State Governor, Mrs Ortom bla, bla....."
Shioor!!!!!
