BENUE PROBE: Group Condemns Ortom’s Probe Of Suswam’s Administration

A
civil society organisation, Benue Youths for Good Governance has described as a
witch-hunt the ongoing investigations into the dealings of the previous
administration of former Governor Gabriel Suswan by a Commission of Enquiry set
up by the Ortom Administration.
The
group in a press release signed by its President, Francis Igba yesterday in
Abuja condemned the panel of inquiry stating that the panels were just a
hoodwink and a facade to divert the Peoples attention, while gross negligence
takes centre stage in the administration of the state.
He
further described the panel as a “dress rehearsal aimed at demonising Suswam
who had in time past had relations with the actors of the script including
Ortom, but like ingrates have turned against their benefactor”.
According
to Igba, the committee has become a puppet show where the panel is allegedly
remote controlled by puppeteers.
He
said coming from an agency of government and extension of the present governing
party has not only exposed this with hunt but further stamped the exercise as
illegitimate.
The
group lambasted the governor and his media team, accusing the team of
inconsistency in churning out figures. They described the probe as mischief
aimed at confusing the general public so as to create a window to loot the
state.
