NE IHYAREV: THE RECENT POSITION AND THE STAND OF THE MAJORITY ON DEFECTION FROM PDP TO APC

Majority of political elites and party men and women from the Ihyarev lineage of MINDA Geo-political zone of Benue would defect from PDP to APC this week.

The Ihyarev which constitute the majority from MINDA overwhelmingly support their sons; Dr. Terhemen Tarzoor and Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Jime to emerge the state Governor.
Many felt aggrieved at the displacement or substitution of Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Jime’s name for Dr. Samuel Ortom now the Governor and the un-emergence of Dr. Terhemen Tarzoor from PDP a Ihyarev man also compound issues while the Ihyarev people wouldn’t want to identify with the Governor Samuel Ortom led government in the state.
However, the current position of the majority from the Isherev, Utyondo, Tyoshin components of Ihyarev lineage is that of accepting the Olive hand extended to them by the Governor to join him in order to have the backings of his people to succeed in governance.
It could be recalled that, recently the Governor identify with his mother’s people (the Mbayongu) and also invited political elites of Ihyarev from the mentioned component units for a discussion which centred on how his people from MINDA and Ihyarev in particular would support his administration for better political gains from the zone which for the first time produces the State Governor.
Since last week and this week, component units of Ihyarev are holding consultative meetings on ascertaining the willingness of their people to join the Dr. Samuel Ortom in governance preparatory to scheduled Thursday arrangements to organized massive defection of people from PDP to APC.
DECISION APPRAISAL: While many of the household names the Ihyarev are willing and mobilizing people for defection, few of them opposed the defection calling it “a quick, too early decision of the people…” and some among them expressed their stand of waiting to hear from the defeated Governorship candidate Dr. Terhemen Tarzoor and certainly from also from Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Jime before taking their decisions.
Others said they were waiting for directive from the immediate pass Governor Dr. Gabriel Suswam before taking a decision also.
By tomorrow being Wednesday and 30th March 2016 more arrangements would be put towards Thursday event.
Now the question is what is most expected to be done by Ihyarev people¬?
A political Analyst is of a stand that …”political and economic decisions are needed to be taken fast since their direct bearing on lives of people as he said delay is very dangerous”.
Now that a Ihyarev man exalts all avenues including legal means to be on throne and could not, it will not be out of place to join Governor Ortom in governance hence we need much gains; empowerment, employment, infrastructural development , quality education among other things from this zone in order to compete favorably with our Kwande, Sankera, Jemgbar, and Jirchira people.
There is no need waiting to hear from Dr. Terhemen Tarzoor who is more in USA and Rt. Hon. Jime Emmanuel hence themselves would not oppose to this decision which would bring gains to their people.
Relatively, you can recall that when Hon. Jime defected earlier to APC, many made fun of him including John Tondo but many could not see from far as Jime did.
Furthermore, for our brothers who write on social media may be for Ihyarev or personal gains would not also get big market as usual as there is a change of direction of the people.
However, their constructive criticisms and appraisal of government decisions, policies and programmes would help check excessive use of power by government.
I may wish to use this medium to commend the political style of Hon. Avine Agbom, BSHA representing Makurdi North in uniting the people here, lobbying for positions for his people and ensuring that established political structures in Makurdi Local Government area are maintained.
Finally, while I applaud the Governor initiative and acceptance of my people to join him in governance to take MINDA to a higher height, I would also advice that the Governor should use wisely the opportunity MINDA has to develop the zone in establishing of social amenities and human empowerment so we could not regret or expressed under utilization of chance we get.
