EDUCATION: Benue State University Granted Full Accreditation to Seven Academic Programmes....

The National Universities Commission (NUC), Abuja has granted full
accreditation to seven academic programmes offered by the Benue State
University, Makurdi.
In a letter addressed to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Msugh Moses Kembe
and signed by the Deputy Executive Secretary 1, NUC headquarters Abuja,
Prof. C.F. Mafiana, the Commission commended Management and Staff of the
University for upholding academic standards for all the programmes.
The Programmes granted full accreditation include: Accounting and Business Management in the Faculty of Management Sciences, Integrated Science in the Faculty of Education as well as Economics, Mass Communication, Psychology and Sociology in the Faculty of Social Sciences.
According to the letter conveying details of the Technical Report dated 13th April, 2016, the Full Accreditation status is valid for a period of five years.
The Accreditation Visitation for the programmes was carried out in March this year.
The NUC is the only body empowered by law to accredit academic Programmes offered by Nigerian Universities.
The Programmes granted full accreditation include: Accounting and Business Management in the Faculty of Management Sciences, Integrated Science in the Faculty of Education as well as Economics, Mass Communication, Psychology and Sociology in the Faculty of Social Sciences.
