BENUE STATE GOVERNMENT INAUGURATES COMMITTEE TO DRAFT BILL ON ESTABLISHMENT OF SME's DEVELOPMENT

In line with the commitment of the Ortom led administration to promote and develop trade and business activities,the state Government today inaugurated a nine (9) member committee to draft a bill on the establishment of Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SME's) development .

Commissioner for Industry ,Trade and Investment ,Dr.Tersoo Kpelai who performed the inauguration in his office at the Benue state secretariat ,makurdi charged the committee members to work hard and diligently so as to deliver the bill on time .
Dr Kpelai described SME's as the bedrock of investment as it has the potentials to accommodate all the strata in the society including the old and the young .
He said the inauguration of the committee is to compliment the efforts of the Governor,Dr.Samuel Ortom in his drive and resolve to turn around the economic fortunes of the state adding that it is in line with the objective that the Governor approved the contract for the completion of the CBN Entrepreneurship Development Centre.
The commissioner added that it is important to strengthen institutions and laws that will create a friendly atmosphere for business activities in the state to grow noting that the way to go in the present economic quagmire is to use SME's strategy.
Responding ,the committee chairman ,Dr.Idoga Augustine promised to leave no stone unturned to deliver in the assignment and prayed God to grant the committee the strength and wisdom to perform the assignment .
The nine member committee has the special Adviser to the Governor on SMEs and micro finance ,Dr.Idoga Augustine as the chairman,Hon.Doughdough Emmanuel ,Hon.mrs.Ann mker,mr.Nyianshima Atagher,Barr.mrs .Ortserga ,Oryiman Alu ,Mrs.Gladys Shaahu ,Fidelis Annune and Mfa Ape as members .
