The Speaker of the Benue House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Terkimbi Ikyange and 13 other members have been granted bail by the EFCC.
The 14 Benue Assembly members detained and granted bail by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) are:
The Speaker, Hon. Terkimbi Ikyange. (Ushongo APC.)
The Deputy Speaker, Hon. James Ejembi Okefe (Okpokwu PDP.)
Rt. Hon. Joseph Ojobo (Ogbadibo,PDP).
Rt. Hon. Adoga Onah (Oju, PDP).
Minority leader Sule Audu (Agatu, PDP).
Hon. Anthony Ogbu (Ado, PDP).
Hon. Chris Adaji (Ohimini, PDP).

Hon. Ire Mathew (Oju, PDP).
Rt. Hon. Nick Eworo, (Obi, APC).
Hon. Baba Otache (Apa, PDP) and
Rt. Hon. Avine Agbom (Makurdi-North, PDP).
The Assembly members were arrested and detained in connection with the Fraudulent N750 Million Car contract handled by the Deputy Speaker of the House, Hon. James Ejembi Okefe.
It was also gathered that the investigation into the matter was triggered by a petition from a Lagos business woman against the Deputy Speaker. It was in the course of investigating that petition that the police stumbled on numerous payments by Hon. Okefe to other members of the House. The EFCC was alerted and hence the investigation.
A few members of the opposition PDP who were not happy that were cut out of the car deal added fire to the petition by helping the EFCC with additional information.

Check the party affiliation of those names properly.
ReplyDeleteHon.Chabo and Avine Agbum are know to be of the APC and not PDP. Just go through it thoroughly. I understand that you copied from another blog but you can make it better.
