The rumoured death of a former Nigeria international, Taribo West, has led to much panic in the country’s sports fraternity.
Several ex-footballers, particularly former teammates of the versatile defender confirmed to PREMIUM TIMES that they have since gotten across to Taribo who is hale and hearty and equally shocked about the said rumours.

“I just spoke with Taribo West, my very good friend and Pastor is alive and well, I am very surprised that people will just wish somebody dead for no reason” former Super Eagles star Etim Esin stated.
Another ex-international, Edema Fuludu, also stated that he had spoken with Taribo and there was no truth in the death reports.
Several outlets (not PREMIUM TIMES) had pronounced Taribo dead on the basis of a report on a South African radio station
The report had it that Taribo was flown into South Africa for medical treatment but did not state what he was diagnosed of.
His body was said to have since been sent for autopsy but all that have been confirmed to be false.
Earlier this year, Nigeria lost two football icons, Stephen Keshi and Amodu Shaibu.
