Confusion As Senator Akume Makes 'Contradictory' Statement On The Floor Of The Senate Today
Even
though I said I’m a changed man and would no longer analyze Benue
State; when it gets to a point that I can’t keep quiet, I will react.
My friend Senator George Akume made
2 statements about 4 minutes ago on the floor of the Senate and I can’t
keep quiet. Walahi I will follow him to his office at the end of the
plenary and bare my mind.
1. The Distinguished Senator while introducing himself said he is representing Benue North West and Benue South (Idoma People).
2. The Senator also said something while supporting the motion on the plight of IDPs in the North East Nigeria, he said and I quote “the problem in the northeast was more monumental than that of Benue State”.
This he said in defence of the reason why he sent 3000 tubers of yam to the IDP camp in Borno state but didn’t send any tuber to Agatu IDPs camp.
In
times like this when our leaders should stand and canvas for the
rehabilitation of Agatu and other Tiv areas affected by Fulani
invasions; someone is trying to underrate the level of damages done to
Benue.
