The next Tor Tiv will be produced by the people of Shitile, Ukum and Tongov otherwise known as Sankera, according to reports.

This decision was taken Friday when chiefs from the 14 Tiv-speaking local governments of Benue State converged in Gboko, the ancestral home of the Tiv people to begin the process of selecting a New Tor Tiv.
It was gathered that after the lengthy session, the chiefs also jettison the selection of Tor Tiv based on intermediate areas, insisting that it should be between Ipusu and Ichongo, the two ruling houses in Tiv land. 
Meanwhile, Governor Samuel Ortom has reiterated his decision not to interfere with selection of the Tor Tiv, first class chiefs and other traditional rulers.
