ON $30bn LOAN: President Buhari Reacts To Emir Of Kano, Sanusi's Comment
The Presidency has reacted to a recent comment made by the emir of
Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II criticizing the Muhammadu Buhari government on
seeking a $30bn external loan.
According to the emir, if Buhari gets the go ahead for the loan, no foreign nation or financial institution would be willing to borrow Nigeria the money, mostly because FG is not implementing the right policies.
However, Presidential Spokesman, Garba Shehu, replied: “With every respect to the Emir, you know he is my ruler, because I come from Kano.
“He doesn’t have his facts as far as those issues are concerned. The issue in CBN, that government has overdrawn its Central Consolidated Account is true, but it is within limits.”
