ILE IFE CLASH: Judge Orders Detention Of Pastor, Oba, 4 Others

Osun State High Court sitting in Osogbo has ordered the detention of six accused persons including; Oba Ademola Ademiluyi, Pastor Taiwo Fakuajo, Akeem Eluwole, Bamidele Elurisanmi, Jimoh Sakiru and Daniel Olanrewaju who were all arrested in connection with the March 8 clash at the Sabo area of Ile-Ife ,ripples reports.

The ruling is coming four days after 15 out of the 21 suspects were freed over their alleged involvement in the clash between the Yoruba and Hausa communities in the ancient town.
According to the prosecutor, Justice Kudirat Akano, the suspects who were charged with 14 counts of murder; armed robbery, arson and conspiracy among others murdered 46 persons, injured 92 persons, robbed some persons and burnt some properties including vehicles, shops and houses during the fracas.

Continuing, the police prosecutor informed the court that the accused persons killed some of the victims with guns, strangulated others and injured some with machetes and broken bottles.
After listening to the prosecutors address, Justice Kudirat granted the prosecutor’s application that the accused persons should be remanded in prison custody.

Four days ago, 15 out of 21 suspects were released to a member of the defense team, Mr Ropo Oyewole.

Those released include Ayoola Abimbola, Bello Wahab, Peter Omisore, Adefisan Isaac, Adelekan Kehinde, Elufisan Akintoye, Omisanmi Isaac and Adejobe Monday.
Others were Olanrewaju Adebayo, Akanbi Adeyinka, Obimakin Samuel, Alhaji Zakariyu Abdulyakeen, Bamidele Elufisan, Clement Kehinde, Akinyombo Seye.
