Ryan Seacrest Pissed That Katy Perry Will Earn $25M To His $10M On American Idol
Ryan Seacrest may quit American Idol after his co-host Katy Perry will take home a fatter paycheck than he will in her first season on the show.
Ryan has been the host of the popular series since its launch back in 2002, and while he reportedly earns around $10 million per season, Katy Perry's $25 million offer puts him in the shade.
Sources say things are so bad, Ryan is considering quitting the show. Richard Rushfield who authored American Idol: The Untold Story said: '[He] was suddenly asking himself why he would come back for a 16th season at a salary [much smaller than that] of the newcomer judge.'
Katy Perry hasn't been at all modest about her hefty fee. During an interview with a radio station she bragged about her earnings saying: 'I’m really proud that, as a woman, I got paid. And you know why? I got paid more than pretty much any guy that’s been on that show.'
