More States REJECTS Nnmadi Kanu’s Biafra Proposal;See LIST

Biafra's call suffers hitches as four states have come out to vehemently reject the proposal of  leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu in recent interview. Some even tag the proposal as insane, saying they should never be included in any agitation. 


 See below the states that have distance themselves from Biafra's offer...

 1. Benue State

 A former police commissioner, Abubar Tsav tagged Nnamdi Kanu's involvement of Benue into Biafra as insane. Also, a former Minister of State for Education, Professor Jerry Agada, said Idoma land should be left out of the purported Biafra territory.

 He warned agitators of Biafra to stop the inclusion of Idoma people in particular and Benue State as a whole in their map.

 2. Kogi

 The Igala Socio-Cultural Group expressed disgust over their inclusion in Biafra. A spokesman of the group, Mr Barry Moses Idakwo, noted that the inclusion has made nonsense of the ancient Igala nation.

 The group pointed out that Nigeria is a democratic country where citizens should be allowed to live peacefully and secured as prescribed by laws.

 “The agitators for Biafra have marginalisation as the main plan for their grievances. It is therefore unthinkable to annex the Igala kingdom without consulting us,” Idakwo said.


 3. Rivers State

 A former Director-General of the Nigeria Intelligence Agency (NIA), Chief Albert Korubo Horsfall, said Port Harcourt won’t be part of Biafra.

 “Gowon declared no victor, no vanquished verdict and that concept is still there. We are living happily with everybody. Port Harcourt is the capital of Rivers State. From time-to-time the issue of Port Harcourt has been an object of agitation. Port Harcourt was one of the issues the so-called Biafra demanded and this matter was discussed in Kampala. I don’t know why people are worried about Biafra and want to resurrect and create tension which is totally unnecessary,” he said.

 4. Delta

 President General of Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, Worldwide, Olorogun Moses Taiga, has said that the nation does not have any binding with the Igbos.

 Taiga explained that Biafra and Urhobo do not even share a common boundary and there is nothing binding the Igbos with them.

Suswam rains SUVs on Benue Governor-Elect, others

  Benue State Governor, Gabriel Suswam, has donated eight brand new Toyota Prado SUVs to the Governor-Elect, Chief Samuel Ortom; his wife; the Deputy Governor-Elect, Benson Abounu, and his wife, as part of measures to ensure peaceful transition arrangement. This presentation was made by the Governor on Thursday at the state house in Makurdi in the face of the heavy criticism his administration has faced for owing salaries of workers for over six months. Senate Indicts Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala Over Loss of N1.6tr Revenue

Nigeria's imediate past minister of Finance ,Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has been indicted by the Nigerian senate over a N1.7t loss in revenue. According to the Senate Ad Hoc Committee on Alleged Misuse, Under-Remittance and Other Fraudulent Activities, revenue agencies short-changed the Federal Government to the tune of N1.7tn as unremitted revenue generated between 2012 and 2016. The panel blamed it on a memo by a former Minister of Finance, Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, who allegedly issued the memo to the agencies to remit 25 per cent of revenue they generated to the Federal Government and spend 75 per cent on their expenditures. An interim report by the committee chaired by Senator Olamilekan Adeola, details this. The panel said the amount to be remitted to the Federal Government during the period by 93 agencies it investigated was N21.5tn. It alleged that 25 of the 93 agencies covered defrauded the government of a total of N1,695,585,887,406.
