Anambra 2017: Senator Andy Uba Heads To Court To Challenge APC Primary Result.



Following the All Progressive Congress which was held in Anambra last week. Senator Andy Uba of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC has alleged that the gubernatorial primary election held in Anambra State on Saturday was marred by massive fraud and rigging in favour of an aspirant.

The 42-year-old medical doctor and politician allgedly scored 2,146 votes to defeat his closest rival, politician Andy Uba, who scored 931 votes.

The Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima, announced the result in Awka on Sunday after the keenly contested primary by 11 candidates for the November 18 governorship election.



However,  Sen. Uba has appealed the results of the election in a court, News Punch has learned reliably. Uba's decision to challenge the result was based on alleged massive frauds perpetrated in favour of the winner.

The nature of the fraud as alleged has not been ascertained by News Punch as at Press Time.

Meanwhile, the ruling All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA member have been jubilating over the emergence of Dr Tony Nwoye as the APC Governorship candidate, saying his emergence will fast-track easy victory for the incumbent Governor, Willie Obiano.

Feelers from Anambra State suggest that the electorates are not willing to vote for the APC candidate which they alleged has entered into an agreement with Chief Arthur Eze to mortgage the future of the state.

Dr Nwoye has allegedly agreed to cede 10 choice commissioners and 30% of totall internally generated revenues to his godfather and business mogul, Arthur Eze should he win as the Governor of Anambra. The businessman on his own part will ensure financial backing to ensure Nwoye win
