Two days back,the SUBEB chairman Rev Dr Philip Tachin honoured Benue Assembly invitation and in their interaction,Rev Dr Philip Tachin revealed that he has identified about 11086 ghost workers on the payroll of primary school Teachers. Though he did not revealed the names of those who inserted the ghost names on the payroll but according my investigation, Sen George Akume gave Ortom a condition that when he becomes governor he (Akume) will appoint everybody into his government so that he will recover all the monies he spent to bring Benue APC on board! Gov Ortom accepted this condition reluctantly but when he finally assumed his duties and after Sen George Akume, appointed Advisor to the Governor on bureau of local government and chieftaincy affairs, Chairman civil service commission, SSG,BIRS BOSS,Speaker and majority leader of the house,Secretary exams board, nine commissioners,MD BIPC, and the same Akume may insist on appointing the VC BSU, then he went ahead to appoint Rev Dr Philip Tachin as SUBEB boss contrary to the instructions of his godfather,so when Ortom discovered that Sen George Akume will be angry with him he then asked Dr Philip Tachin to go and introduce himself to Sen George Akume and beg him to accept him as the SUBEB boss, when Rev Dr Philip Tachin went to Sen George Akume's house, Akume authoritatively said I will accept you for one condition, you must allow my wife Regina to insert 11000 ghost workers on the primary school teacher's payroll,so from there Dr Philip Tachin agreed and promised to come back and brief Ortom,But when eyes became red before the house ,Tachin had nothing to do than to admit that 11086 ghost workers are on the payroll.This is the confirmation of Ortom's statement that the issue of high wage bill is beyond his powers.
FINANCE COMMISSIONER HAD THIS TO SAY BEFORE ASSEMBLY MEMBERS
On his part, Commissioner for Finance, Mr. David Olofu informed the lawmakers that the total wage bill of workers on the U-Pay platform of government covering 17, 296 workers is about N2.2Billion excluding over 8000 Pensioners, Staff of BSU, Judiciary, SUBEB and Lobi Stars.
According to the Finance Commissioner, several attempts have been made by the Executive at finding solution to the over bloated wage bill and commended the Assembly for its intervention.
Earlier, the Majority Leader, Barr. Benjamin Adanyi described the inability of government to live up to its financial obligations to workers as worrisome adding that the decision of the House to step in was to help the Executive arm of government to find a lasting solution to the problem. Total allocation to BNSG from January- August 2017 is 24,067,552,888.32
what accrued to LGC's is 22,722,917,417.96

I believe we would have done better.
Don't forget that during governor Ortom's radio phone in program, Hon Titus Zam said the bureau of local government has a total of 27000 workers with a wage bill of N3.5B while the head of service said Benue state government as a whole has a total of 47000 workers so now between Titus Zam,Head of service and David Olofu who is telling the truth about the actual workforce of the state? It is only God that will judge them.
