Benue Born Activist Blast Prof. Umar Labdo Muhammad Over Comment That 'BENUE STATE BELONGS TO THE FULANI BY RIGHT OF CONQUEST'
Earlier today ,the social media was thrown into confusion over comment made by one Professor Umar Labdo Muhammad. where he stated that, 'BENUE STATE BELONGS TO THE FULANI BY RIGHT OF CONQUEST'.
He wrote;
Meanwhile, Benue born activist, Akioyamen Josephine,has replied the Professor in an article she titled, 'Benue Can Never Be Yours'.

Benue State belongs to the Fulani people by right of conquest. This is because half of the state is part of the Bauchi Emirate and the other half is part of the Adamawa Emirate. Benue is therefore part and parcel of the Sokoto Caliphate. So no one has the right to expel the Fulani from Benue under any guise.
Second to the Arabs, perhaps the Fulani are the most benevolent and merciful conquerors in history. If they had applied the Nazi final solution to the natives, or if they had treated them the same way the European settlers treated Red Indians in North America or the Aborigines in Australia, the story would have been different toady.
The Fulani are the largest single nation in West Africa and, perhaps, on the whole continent and they have remained unbeatable throughout their history.
You can hate the Fulani, you can call them all sort of names, you can blackmail their spineless political leaders, you can conspire to wipe out the entire Fulani leadership in a single day, you can stage a coup and "orkarize" (excise) the core Fulani states from Nigeria, you can hate them to he'll, but you can never beat them.
Fulani's main problem remains their meek, spineless, incompetent leaders that have lost all sense of responsibility and abandoned their people. But this problem, thank God, is not insurmountable. The Fulani are capable of changing their leaders: traditional, political, religious and cultural (I mean by cultural those so-called Fulani socio-cultural organizations that eat fat on the Fulani but cannot champion their cause or defend their rights). They have done this in the past and are capable of doing it again.

This illiterate "Professor " doesn't deserve any rebuttal because none of his assertions is correct.
First, the claim that Fulani is the largest ethnic group in West Africa is completely false. Numbering about 19 million with only about 5 million in Nigeria, the Fulani is only one of the large groups in the West African area. The largest group is the Mande cluster of ethnic groups found across the length and breadth of West Africa. They contributed to the political history of West Africa in founding the earliest Kingdoms of Ghana, Mali and Songhai.
On the other hand, the Fulani can't lay any claim to such contribution. Their only contribution is the plundering of the Hausa Kingdoms in the 19th century, and the usurpation of the Hausa thrones in the guise of a so called religious revolution.
Besides, the Fulani have no political power anywhere else in West Africa outside of Nigeria, no thanks to the connivance and racism of the British colonialists. The Fulani regard the Futa Djallon and Futa Toro in the Republic of Guinea as their land of origin, but have never ruled in that country and probably will never. All through their history the Fulani have been itinerant herders and bandits with little or no contribution to society.
The claim that Fulani conquered Benue must be in the imagination of this unique professor. Where ever the Fulani suppressed the local ruler, it is a known fact that they imposed an Emir, so who are the Fulani Emirs of Benue?
A man who answers to the title of Professor is expected to be versed in a branch of knowledge of which he professes. What knowledge is this strange fellow professing?
