PHOTOS: John Lennon's Motorbike To Be Auctioned For More Than £30,000
John Lennon's motobike which he used as a "fun way" to get around his Berkshire estate, near the border with Runnymede, has been placed on auction for sale according to Get Surrey.
Lennon, who died in New York in 1980, lived in Tittenhurst Park between 1969, the year he left the Beatles, and 1971.
Lennon's Honda Monkey-Trail Z50A bike is set to be sold at the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull, West Midlands, on March 4.
According to auctioneer H&M Classics, it is estimated to go for more than £30,000.
The Fab Four's link to the county
Mark Bryan, head of sales at H&H Classics, said:
“Naturally we are thrilled to be entrusted with the marketing and sale of this bike, given its extraordinary provenance.”
The bike was first bought by Hampshire man Henry Graham and then by John Harington, who kept it for 47 years.
The Honda Z50A was introduced into the UK market in 1969, where it was also known as the Mini Trail.
Many don't know but Lennon and his then wife Cynthia spent a vital period of the singer's life in Surrey before their divorce in 1968.
