A Japanese woman was left '10 minutes from death' after her abusive grandfather starved her as a teen, according to reports The Sun UK.
Harrowing photos widely shared online claim to show the skeletal then-teen posing in front of a mirror at her lowest weight - a minuscule 16.8kg.
The woman claimed she was starved by an abusive grandfather in her teens.
Posting on Twitter under the username 'wild cabbage', she claimed her grandfather would kick her in the stomach until she vomited if he caught her eating.
Reports in her native Kyoto claim she made a full recovery after being dramatically rescued by cops.
After being rushed to a nearby hospital, doctors told her she was "10 minutes from death".

The woman, now in her 20s, did not reveal what happened to her grandfather or any other relatives at the time.
