UPDATE: Important information you need to know about alleged mace snatching senator Ovie, Omo-Agege.. MUST READ!
Last week, the Nigerian polity and internet was thrown into confusion after some heavy bodied thugs walked gallantly into the senate chambers amids tight security to snatch the mace out into an unknow destination. Although it was found afterwards but the question on everyone's lips remains: how possible was that with all the security check points before entering into the national assembly?
However, suspended member of the senate, Ovie Omo-Agege was fingered to be the one behind the group of thugs who stole the mace.
Here is the real shocker! The lawmaker who suddenly became a lawbreaker is son of a former Chief Judge of Delta state, Justice James Omo-Agege.
The former Justice they say is one of the longest-serving chief judge in the history of the state and was famous for carrying out the sentencing of the infamous armed robbers, Lawrence Anini, Monday Osunbor and George Iyamu, a police officer, to death by firing squad in the 1987.
He died on August 18, 2016.
Apart from the above mentioned. The suspended lawmaker, did his NYSC in the Nigeria Police after bagging a degree in Law from the University of Benin from 1987 and 1988.
He was appointed an executive assistant by James Ibori, former governor of Delta state and later became the secretary to the state government.
Nigerians are now asking why should someone with such a magnificent history act in such a way. But some people have applauded him, saying his suspension was unconstitutional.
