Breaking!! #MuteKanye! Kanye West's songs banned by Metro Detroit station following his 'disrespectful' slavery comments against black people

By now, U.S ace rapper Kanye west should be warming up with an apology as his comment has continued to generate controvery.

New report have it that the rapper's songs have been banned by Metro Detroit's throwback hip-hop station, WMGC-FM (105.1).

The announcement was made Thursday. According to tgem, it won't air Kanye West songs in response to controversial comments made earlier this week by the artist.  


During the morning show with Bigg and Shay Shay on the Bounce, the hosts let listeners know they won't play West songs on the airwaves after his comments about slavery on TMZ earlier this week. 

West appeared on the TMZ show on Tuesday and discussed "free thought," and during that conversation, he said, "When you hear about slavery for 400 years, 400 years?! That sounds like a choice."

The Ferndale-based radio show says it allowed listeners have a voice and started #MuteKanye.

"We feel like Kanye has gone too far with his latest statement declaring that 'slavery was a choice,'" the station posted on Facebook. "We are over it. We don’t want to hear Kanye’s music; we don’t want to play Kanye on our show; we don’t want to talk about Kanye anymore. So we are taking a stand, and we aren’t playing his music anymore; we just are refusing to give him a platform."

In the hour-long morning show Thursday, listeners called in to say West's comments were hurtful and preferred his songs not to be played.

Bigg told The Detroit News the response was so overwhelming, the station's new program director, John Candelaria, approved the ban across the station. 

"In my 20-year radio career, this is one of the largest responses I've ever seen; the largest reaction on the Bounce, too," Bigg said. "It’s very overwhelming right now. I’m just trying to keep up. Lots of people in support, but the people that aren’t are taking personal jabs. Weird."
