Mercy Johnson speaks on alleged divorce from husband and joining politics..

Nollywood actress and Kogi State Senior Special Assistant on Entertainment, Arts and Culture, Mercy Johnson, has disclosed that she would never return the beautiful wedding ring her husband gave her.

Recalled,  earlier this year, there were rumors that the mother of three was having some problems in her marriage after she deleted all her pictures, including that of her husband, from her Instagram page.

Mercy, however, debunked the rumour during a chat with PUNCH, adding that she was unworried after the false news surfaced.

“I did not feel bad when I read the news that my marriage was hitting the rocks because it was not true.
“I am very comfortable in my own space and I am not out to please anybody. I am always true to myself and I continue to be a happy person. There was absolutely no problem between my husband and me, I only deleted the old pictures on my Instagram page.
“They were old so I deleted them to post new ones. I am not letting my husband go; even when he is angry, I would beg him. You see these beautiful rings that he has given to me, I am never returning them,” she said.

On her interest of joining politics anytime soon, the Kogi state born actress,she told Sun;

 “No, I am not interested in politics, if my people beg me to join, I’ll equally beg them not to beg me. I just don’t want to do politics at all.

“I can equally effect change in my community without holding any political office. My husband is already a politician, but I’m not. I think it’s enough on my shoulders that I’m responsible for some actions in the state.
“I also have influence on people as a film person. Everything you do is under scrutiny; that public eye is enough for me. I wouldn’t want to top it with political responsibilities. I can represent my community in a good light, help people, touch lives, do the best I can, and remain a good woman, but not with a political tag.
“Well, I’m not scared. I’m just been careful.”

The actress further revealed she would be having another baby soon due to her obsession for children.

“I’m obsessed with children. While growing up, I always had it in mind that I’ll have four children. So, we still need one more to complete it (laughs). So, we can always play football correctly, three boys, three girls,” she added.
