Justice Ademola Adeniyi of the Federal High  Court sitting in Abuja, yesterday,  struck out the suit that sought to remove  the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and his Deputy,  Ike Ekweremadu from office on the premise  that the Senate Standing Orders 2015, that  produced them, was forged. Justice Adeniyi terminated further hearing on the matter after the plaintiffs who are five Senators Abu Ibrahim, Kabir Marafa, Ajayi Boroffice, Olugbenga Ashafa and Suleiman Hunkuni, applied to withdraw the suit.

Following reports that Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom will this week announce more appointments, the portfolios of those who are thought to make the list has emerged. BENUE.COM.NG sources around the governor revealed that new blood to be injected in Ortom’s administration are carefully selected based on track records and antecedents.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike The Rivers Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja on Friday dismissed an application by the All Progressives Congress to scan and crop all the materials used for 2015 governorship election in the State. The APC and its candidate in the April 11 governorship election, Dakuku Peterside, are seeking the nullification of the election of Governor Nyesom Wike.

My attention has been drawn to a series of spurious newspaper publications regarding the recent suspension of the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Mr. David Parradang. The many publications insinuated that Abba Moro, as Minister of Interior, relegated the Comptroller-General to the background thereby making him unable to carry out his duties. They further insinuated that I corrupted the Immigration Service.

An Air Force helicopter has crashed at the site of the Old National Defence Academy in Kaduna State. Channels Television reports that the helicopter was on its way from the NAF base in Kaduna en-route Abuja.

  Troops of the 7 Division Nigerian Army on Friday engaged dozens of Boko Haram terrorists in a bloody encounter at Guzamala local government area, killing many of the insurgents, military officials said. The soldiers, who were aided by the airforce jets, moved in to clear the deadly camp, leaving dozens of the insurgents dead, while few others were being pursued by soldiers.
