Prosecutors in Germany have charged a doctor with negligent bodily harm after he mistook a woman for dead. The 92-year-old woman who had been declared dead suddenly woke up screaming inside a freezing mortuary. The 53-year-old doctor pronounced the seriously ill woman dead in March after a worker found her without a pulse and not breathing at a retirement home. Her body was taken to the Munstermann funeral parlour in Berlin where it was placed in a refrigerated room. But just hours later a worker at the funeral home heard shrieks coming from inside the room.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday appointed Alhaji Mohammed Kari as the Commissioner for Insurance and Chief Executive of the National Insurance Commission. According to a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, the appointment, which is for a term of four years in the first instance, takes effect from Friday, July 31 2015. The new Commissioner for Insurance started his career with Royal Exchange Assurance in  1979.

The managing director, Kaduna Refining and Petrochemicals Company, Saidu Mohammed, on Friday said the refinery will hit 90 per cent production of its 110,000 installed capacity. It was gathered that the refinery had been operating at 60 per cent production capacity before commencement of the turn-around maintenance in October 2014. Mr. Mohammed, in an interview after a tour of the refinery with journalists, said the refinery has undergone turn around maintenance.

The National Emergency and Management Agency has said that six people were killed by an explosion that occurred at a crowded market in Maiduguri Friday morning. The attack occurred at a parking area in the market. The agency said on its twitter page that 11 others were wounded in the blast.

The All Progressives Congress in Rivers State says it has uncovered a plan by the Peoples Democratic Party to blackmail former governor, Rotimi Amaechi. The State APC claimed that the alleged plan was intended to portray the former governor as corrupt in a bid to put him in bad light before the public. The United States Trade and Development Agency, Thursday, announced a N251.3 billion training grant to Dangote Oil Refining Company to develop the critical human resources needed to run a refinery. The ‎fund was announced at the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the USTDA and Dangote Group in Lagos. ‎”USTDA is pleased to support the Dangote Oil Refining Company’s efforts to increase Nigeria’s domestic refining capacity.” said Enoh Ebong, USTDA Deputy Director.

A new head of the multinational force on Boko Haram has been appointed. The appointment was necessary because the former head, Brig-Gen. T. Y. Buratai, was appointed as the Chief of Army Staff by President Muhammadu Buhari. The new commander, Major General Iliya Abbah, previously headed military operations in the Niger Delta, according to a military spokesman said.

She was grilled for another five and half hours, making her appearance before EFCC’s crack investigators a cumulative record of 11 hours. Everyone makes mistakes. We are all human beings. However, when you are the president of the country the population of which exceeds 170million people, all your actions, including even speech blunders, are never left unnoticed. Muhammadu Buhari has been travelling a lot recently, especially after the May 29 inauguration. The most widely-publicised trips were carried out to Germany for the G7 Summit and to the United State for a meeting with Barack Obama. President Muhammadu Buhari has described Rev. Father Ejike Mbaka of the Adoration Centre as a great priest who is not afraid to speak the truth, even at the cost of his own life or being hated by those in power.
