At least 100 people were reportedly killed during an attack by Boko Haram members on Dalori, a settlement located on the outskirt of Maiduguri, the Borno state capital yesterday January 30th. Sahara Reporters reports that the sect members dressed in military uniforms, had stormed the village in 10 Hilux buses and motorcycles  and started shooting sporadically and setting houses ablaze.

Hundreds of residents of Dalori, a  suburban settlement 5km on the outskirts of Maiduguri, the Borno State capital,  have fled their homes as Boko Haram insurgents attacked on Saturday night, residents said. Many are said to have been killed and injured by the insurgents who took the quiet village by surprise at about 7pm.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested and detained the immediate past Chief of Air Force, Adesola Amosu. Mr. Amosu, an air vice marshal, who was retired last year, alongside other military chiefs, is allegedly being detained over allegation of corruption in arms procurement during his tenure.
